MAC OS X: How to Use Microsoft Remote Desktop

Prerequisites –

Download the Microsoft Remote Desktop from App Store

Once downloaded, open the Microsoft Remote Desktop App and click “New” to create a new remote connection:

Here are the only pieces of information you’ll need to fill in:

Connection name: You can choose a name for your connection, for instance: PC-XXX – Work Computer

PC name: Insert the IP address provided by LogDev, it’ll look something like this: 157.67.445.257:3531 (numbers may differ) – If using SOPHOS SSL VPN, then IP address is the internal one.

User name: Your work username (the same you use to login to your work computer), example: LOGDEV\username

Password: [Password you use to login to your work computer]

** NO need to change the other configurations

Done, you’re ready to go. Hit “Start” to control your computer remotely.
