Smart Phones, Tablets and multiple machines can be used to access eMail, contacts, calendars and other corporate level data from the organization. As these devices are “out in the wild”, prudent business practice dictates that the data contained on these devices be protected from casual viewing.

The implementation of a lock-screen policy prevents unwarranted access to the data on remote devices by requiring the owner to enter an unlock code to open the device. Not only does this protect the corporate data should the device be stolen, lost or misplaced, but the owner’s personal data as well.

Your IT organization will be activating this Lock Screen Policy for your corporate network. If you have an iOS, Android, Windows or Blackberry 10 device, once the policy has been activated, you will required to create a lock code for your device. As an example, you’ll see screens similar to the following when you next use your device.

Thank you for understanding the need to protect corporate data used on personal devices with the same diligence that it is protected within the confines of the organization’s walls.
